Jean-François Carrière
Jean-François Carrière is currently pursuing studies in Baroque Cello at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. At the age of 14, Jean-François was accepted to the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey, where he studied for five years under Prof. Bartholomew LaFollette.
He has performed at the Wigmore Hall in London, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, the Großer Saal at the Salzburger Festspiele, and Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts in Montreal.
In May 2018, he received the first prize in the Mainardi Cello Competition in Salzburg. As a solo cello performer, Jean-Francois has performed with the Ile Symphony Orchestra, I Musici de Montreal as well as the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmonie, where he played Beethoven's Triple Concerto with Vinicius Gomez and Daniel Ochoa, students at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg.
