Mira Awad
Mira Awad is a multidisciplinary international artist and activist (artivist), dedicated to the message of peace, empathy and solidarity. Born in Rameh village in the Galilee, to a Palestinian father and Bulgarian mother, Mira was raised in a multicultural, socially involved environment. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Haifa, and Music at the Rimon School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. She currently lives in London.
Mira has released four solo albums and collaborated with many international artists: Noa, David Broza, Andrea Boccelli, Bobby Mc'Ferrin and more. She represented Israeli in the 2009 Eurovision contest along Noa, and is an award-winning composer for theatre and film.
Throughout her career, Mira developed a unique fusion of sounds, combining the East with the West, weaving the Arabic language and its oriental ornaments with Western harmonies, thus creating unique modern Arabic fusion music, with a rich tapestry of sounds. As an actress, Mira participated in numerous theatre productions, hosted several tv shows, and starred on the high rated series “Arab Labor”. She created the TV drama Muna. She is a coach for stage performance and a storytelling consultant for organizations and companies.
