Over eight weeks each spring, Singing with Nightingales host over thirty events that guide you on an unforgettable journey into nature, culminating in a performance in complete darkness with a wild Nightingale.

Our opening night of the season begins gathered at the fireside, where welcome drinks await. Before dusk approaches, we’ll be led on a wander through this pristine woodland pasture, behold the evening chorus and discover the rich biodiversity of our ancient bluebell woods. Returning to the warmth of the campfire, a two-course vegan dinner awaits, accompanied by a delicious selection of hot and cold drinks to suit all tastes.

As night falls, we'll share in traditional folklore, Nightingale histories, and songs before embarking on a silent, torchless walk through the darkness to find our feathered singers. Here, under a blanket of stars, you'll witness our signature human-avian musical collaboration – a breathtaking interaction between Sam, our guest musician, and our bird, creating a truly unforgettable experience. As midnight passes, we’ll make our way back across the starry fields to the campsite and carriages.

The SWN team has prepared this very special and different offering to honour the opening of the season and welcome home our just-arrived birds. Details will be revealed soon, but expect this to be a much more enriched evening to cut the ribbon of spring, toast in the green spray upon the land and warm up our instruments of song, joy and celebration. Guests will be briefed in advance of any important additions, but expect this to be a memorable SWN special that, in years to come, you will say “you were there”.

Please make sure you have versed yourself in the important practical information below and reviewed our comprehensive FAQs to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for you and your guests. As our events involve walking across challenging terrain at night, we kindly ask you to consider any mobility requirements within your group before booking. For a full insight into the concept and idea behind the project, please see our What is SWN page.
