Over eight weeks each spring, Singing with Nightingales host over thirty events that guide you on an unforgettable journey into nature, culminating in a performance in complete darkness with a wild Nightingale.
This unique one-off event combines our signature Nightingale experience with the ancient wisdom of foraging. Running from 3:00 pm on 2nd May until midday on 3rd May, two incredible foraging legends will guide us through the abundance of our Sussex woodland, teaching us to identify the edible and medicinal plants that thrive in the same rich landscape the Nightingales call home.
Upon arrival, settle in to our site with welcome drinks and snacks. The afternoon will be led by our two foraging experts who will guide us around the woodland to discover the nutrient-rich plants and medicinal herbs that our magical site is bursting with. This is your chance to learn from true pilgrims of the hedgerows as we explore the edible and medicinal possibilities surrounding us. The afternoon's luxurious schedule will allow you to really sink into our woodland sanctuary, meet your fellow intrepid nightingale seekers and foragers, and prepare you for the night's adventures.
When evening draws near, we gather at the fireside. Before dusk approaches, we’ll be led on a wander through this pristine woodland pasture, behold the evening chorus and discover the rich biodiversity of our ancient bluebell woods. Returning to the warmth of the campfire, a two-course vegan dinner awaits, accompanied by a delicious selection of hot and cold drinks to suit all tastes.
As night falls, we'll share in traditional folklore, Nightingale histories, and songs before embarking on a silent, torchless walk through the darkness to find our feathered singers. Here, under a blanket of stars, you'll witness our signature human-avian musical collaboration – a breathtaking interaction between Sam, our guest musician, and our bird, creating a truly unforgettable experience. As midnight passes, we’ll make our way back across the starry fields to the campsite where guests are welcome to gather once again around the campfire for a late-night come-all-ye gathering of songs and stories.
The following morning after breakfast, our foraging experts return to lead another discovery walk, helping you step into summer as a more confident and honourable forager.
