Why I'm involved

“I first discovered this magical world after borrowing Sam's book The Nightingale from my dad in spring 2023. Enchanted by the promise of interspecies communication, I bought tickets immediately. At the time, I was struggling with my mental health, but that night in the woods offered the healing I needed. I knew instantly that I had to be part of this work, supporting Sam and the growing team in whatever way I could. It's a privilege to contribute to a project that helps others connect to the more-than-human world. It’s these connections - to each other, to the land, to the woods - that bring the most meaning to my life.”

Favourite Nightingale Experience

“It has to be that first time in April 2023. Walking along the old railway line, passing two or three birds mere metres away in the hedge, their voices throbbing through my ears, feeling the power of their song reverberating through my entire being. It was unlike anything I'd ever experienced. I've been fortunate to witness many more evenings since then, each unique and magical in its own way, but nothing quite beats that first encounter!”
