Pascal Pearce
He/Him
Pascal is SWN's Head of Production, bringing extensive experience as a producer across world and folk music genres. Outside of SWN, he works on a variety of projects, including Making Tracks, Anda Union, and the Nest Collective.
Growing up in a travelling theatre, Pascal experienced firsthand the power of sharing performance in familiar, welcoming spaces - understanding how a big top tent can be far more inclusive and less intimidating than traditional brick-and-mortar venues. As a result, he has a deep belief in the opportunities offered by sharing traditions and performance in natural, unconventional environments.
Why I'm involved
"It's about presenting the arts in spaces that are far more natural and intuitive, that help to build a lasting understanding and relationship with those traditions and with those spaces. When we create experiences outside of traditional venues, we open up possibilities for more authentic, meaningful encounters."
Favourite Nightingale Experience
"So many! Most recently, at Strawberry Hill in Bedfordshire, I was struck by how the birds within the close environment interact with each other and how their tone and song changes when the music begins. The way they start interacting with one another becomes very clear. Another unforgettable moment was sitting in a field in the dark with Alcanna Graeca singing in the darkness, as the moon rose from the east like a big western sun, slowly casting its gentle light over our group. That was truly special and very memorable."
