Vivek Gudi
He/Him
Vivek is a programmer with a background and a love of platforming independent, emerging and grassroots-based artists. Having worked across large institutions such as the Royal Albert Hall, as well as smaller organisations based in collective action and community-based programming, he loves programming artists who, through their work, develop a deeper relationship to their worth and their environment.
Why I'm involved
“Despite being born and raised in the loud, chaotic, and sometimes overwhelming sounds of London, the times I've spent surrounded by ancestral connection and by land have formed some of the deepest connections I have had with music. To have experienced this connection is a privilege, and I would love to bring it to artists and audiences within London and beyond.”
Favourite Nightingale Experience
“My favourite Nightingale experience has to be my first time physically attending Singing with Nightingales. Hearing months of sounds heard over a laptop in real life, following the dark and deeply intimate walk through the forest, was such an otherworldly experience. Apart from that experience, seeing the Nightingale represented in one of my favourite dance performances, 'Songs of the Bulbul,' by Aakash Odedra, felt like such a beautiful tribute to a bird from a completely different cultural context.”
